This poster will be made into a new mural which will be situated on Lenadoon Avenue, in Republican West Belfast, Ireland, to be unveiled in July of this year. Your purchase will ensure that those who died will be adequately remembered on the streets of the communities within which they battled it out with the occupation forces whilst fighting for Irish freedom.
Each poster will be signed (on reverse) by the artist and is commissioned by a number of Republican ex-prisoners who knew many of the hunger strikers that died during the 1981 Strike - this is your opportunity to own a unique piece of Irish Republican history.
The poster features the ten hunger strikers, including the dates of their deaths and duration on the strike. Additionally, the background imagery features a number of iconic photographs from the struggle for Irish freedom including some more rare images retrieved from historical documents and which many will see for the very first time.
